It’s tough to find out time for working professionals as well as students to go on treks. Therefore, weekend treks are on everyone’s search lists. Manali being the adventure capital of India, we have compiled a list of weekend treks in Manali that can be done within 2-3 days.

1.  Bhrigu Lake Trek

Bhrigu Lake Trek is a 3 day journey from Manali to reach a high altitude alpine lake. The amazing highlight of this trek is that you get to climb an inspiring height of 14,000 ft in just two-three days. The trail is steep and goes through forests and lush green meadows. You can view the Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters peaks. You can see the traditional villages and apple orchards towards the end of your trek.

2. Chandrakhani Pass Trek

Chandrakhani Pass trek goes througha beautiful pass in the Kullu valley. This journey offers outstanding views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parbati range of mountains.

Best Season: June to August, first week of May to experience snow slides for descent.
Maximum altitude: 3660 m
Duration of trek:2-3 days

3. Beas Kund Trek

The Beas Kund trek is suitable for all age-groups. You can camp by the river as well as trek through meadows and forests. It is complemented by astounding views of the mountain ranges such as the Pir Pangal range, the Dhauladhar range and trails following the banks of the river Beas. This trek begins with a drive from Manali to the skiing slopes and adventurous spirits of the Solang Valley to the alpine meadows of the scenic Dhundi, through birch trees at Bhoj Patra only to feel lost like a crazy heart in the divine embraces of the Beas Kund.

4. Lama Dugh Trek

The town of Lamadugh is situated near Manali. The trek starts at Manu Temple in Old Manali.  Get ready for a steep climb as you will cross through a thick trail of deodar and pine forests. The journey offers mesmerizing views of Manali and the upper Kullu valley. You can spot peaks like Indrasan, Deo Tibba and Bara Shigri glacier. The lush green plateau in Lamadugh surrounded by snowcapped mountains will soon welcome you.

5. Kheerganga Trek

Kheerganga trek is extremely pleasant and offers some exhilarating views. The trek the vegetation changes dramatically during the trek. This trek offers the views of beautiful meadows and a natural hot water spring towards the end.

6. Khar Myundari Trek

This is a short trek and one of the best weekend treks in Manali Himalayas. It starts from Setan which is about a 1 hour drive from Manali. This trek will provide you astounding views beside the lake and Kullu Valley. The trek goes through a beautiful trail of thick deodar and pine forests.

Best season: All around the year

7. Trekking to Chika

This is a short trek from Jobra to Chika. This trek provides enthralling views of snow and mountains and shares its route with the famous Hamta Pass Trek as Chika is a common campsite for both the treks.

Best season: April to December
Duration: 1 day
Difficulty level: Easy
Trekking distance: Approx. 4 km
