Short One day Treks in Manali

 

  1. Lamadugh Trek

Among all the one day treks in Manali, the Lamadugh trek  is probably the best in terms of efforts versus views. The town of Lamadugh is situated near Manali. The trek starts at Manu Temple in Old Manali.  Get ready for a steep climb as you will cross through a thick trail of deodar and pine forests. The journey offers mesmerizing views of Manali and the upper Kullu valley. You can spot peaks like Indrasan, Deo Tibba and Bara Shigri glacier. The lush green plateau in Lamadugh surrounded by snowcapped mountains will soon welcome you.

 

Maximum altitude: 3000 m

Best season: April to December

Duration of trek: 1 or 2 days

Difficulty level: Easy

Trekking distance: Approx. 17 km

 

  1. Vashisht-Jogini Waterfall Trek

This is approximately a 3 km trek beginning from Vashisht temple. The route passes through a narrow lane by the side of the temple and goes through apple orchards, tall pine trees and small water streams. You can take a gentle walk in order to reach the base of the waterfall. You can soon spot the Beas River and snow peaks around Rohtang. The Jogini Mata Temple is at the base of this waterfall. From this point you can climb and reach the top of the waterfall.

 

Maximum altitude: 2850 m

Best season: Can be done all around the year, but better if monsoons are avoided. Ideal to do in winters when the long treks are closed.

Difficulty level: Easy

Trekking distance: Around  4 km

  1. Kheerganga Trek

Kheerganga trek near Kasol is extremely pleasant and offers some exhilarating views. During the trek the vegetation changes dramatically during the trek. This trek starts from Barshaini and offers the views of beautiful meadows and a natural hot water spring towards the end.

Maximum altitude: 2960 m

Best season: May to November

Duration of the trek: 1 or 2 days

Difficulty level: Easy

Trekking Distance: Around 13 km

 

  1. Trek to Chika

A short trek from Jobra (starting point of Hamta Pass Trek) to Chika provides trekkers a view of snow during the onset of winters. It is a short trek and the trail is easy for beginners.

Maximum altitude: 3100 m

Best season: April to December

Duration of the trek: 2 hrs

Difficulty level: Easy

Trekking distance: Approx. 4 km

 

  1. Manali to Solang Valley Trek

The trek to Solang Valley begins from Old Manali. The trail goes through Old Manali Village, Goshal Village, Sannag Village and Burua Village. You will then arrive at Solang Valley which has stunning views of glaciers and snow-capped peaks.

Maximum altitude: 3100 m

Best season: April to December

Duration of the trek: 6-7 hrs

Difficulty level: Easy

Trekking distance: Around 13 km

 

  1. Gulam Lang Trek

 Trek to Gulam Lang will start from Old Manali. This trek goes through Old Manali Village and beside the river Manalsu. It is initially a very gradual hike and you will slowly go up the hill. This trek will only take around 6 to 7 hours.

Maximum altitude: 2650 m

Duration of the trek: 6-7 hrs

Difficulty level: Moderate
